We all need to be flexible this week because the weather for Monday and Tuesday does not look good. Be ready to play cancelation game on Tues and Thurs. PLEASE KEEP THE CALENDER CLEAR FOR THIS WEEK BECAUSE I HAVE NO IDEA THE PLAN IF GAMES START GETTING CANCELLED.

Remember: End of year party is 5-8 pm Sunday Jun 10th. Parents please stand by for food help for the party. We have done this as a potluck in the past with the club paying for the hot dogs, hamburgers, and other additional items but everything else was provided by the players. An email with food assignments will be sent in a few weeks. The Karol’s have been kind enough to host a party and it will be outside in the backyard pool area. Plan on bringing the swim trunks.

Parents I need volunteers to take on some of the Club positions. Jim Lowe and Craig Wallen the President and VP of the club will be leaving us this year and I need a few volunteers to fill the positions. We are a Virginia Corporation and must have a board of directors. We usually have 1 meeting a year in the fall to approve the budget and then emails as necessary for the rest of the year. IF you would like to volunteer please email!!!!

JV Schedule:

Monday: Grass JV vs Cox JV 5:30 to 7:30 Field 2 (we normally play on field 1) Princess Ann Park

Tuesday: If we win practice 4:15 to 6:15

Wednesday: If we win on Monday: Grassfield JV vs Tabb JV CNU 7:30 to 9:30.  CHAMPIONSHIP GAME

Varsity:

Monday: Grass vs GB 7:30 to 9:30 Field 1

IF we win: Tuesday: Practice 4:15 to 6:15

Wednesday: Grass vs Grafton/Poquoson CNU or PAAC

Thursday: Practice if we win 4:15-6:15

Friday: Championship Game Dre Bly Field Norfolk 7:30 to 9:30

Next Two Weeks before State Championships

Week of 21 to 15 May (CHANGE TO PRACTICE SCHEDULED BECAUSE OF BOTH COACH’s SCHEDULE)

Mon and Tues : NO PRACTICE” Coaches not available due to travel and personnel issues.

Wed and Thursday: Practice 4:15 to 6:15

Friday: No Practice

Week of 28 to 3 June

Monday: Memorial Day: No practice

Tues to Thurs: Practice 4:15 to 6:15

State Championship Richmond VA Jun 2 and 3. Time TBD. 2 Hour Drive to get to the field so we could be leaving early on Saturday.

Plan for State Championship Game for JV Players. If there are JV players that would like to play with the varsity in the state championship game please talk to the coach this week. I have room to bring additional players but I want to make sure each player understands the conditions and understands how I will work play time.

We have already have a great season and as a result I assuming we are going to the state championship in Richmond the week of 2-3 June. The top 3 teams in our league are invited and we can finish no worse than 3 this year. I have explained to the team how selection is made (the two teams that get to the our league tournament finals + 1 additional team…based on league standings)

Example: We finish second in the conference (we are tied for second now…if we beat Grafton next Monday we finish second in the league and we are in the state championship no matter how we do in the end of the season tournament. If we lose to Grafton we to go the state tournament if Grafton or Tabb end up in the finals or we end up in the tournament finals.

The tournament in Richmond is part of the Commonwealth games and we play at the beautiful new Sports Quest complex in Midlothian, VA. The tournament is comprised of 8 teams and we play a minimum of 2 games with a potential of 3. If we win our first 2 games we play on Sunday. No matter what we play 2 games on Saturday. Right now I am projecting playing both Saturday and Sunday unless otherwise told. My intention is to drive up and back each day. Midlothian is about 2 hours away and travel is usually easy if we take HWY 460

I may take some JV players but I need to see who on the varsity cannot attend.

IF we make it we will be the first Chesapeake team to do so. Last year was the first season but none of the Chesapeake teams made the grade. This is a great opportunity and I hope everyone takes advantage….
